Disposal CAN BeThe Best Option

There are many reasons why we hold on to stuff and create clutter in our homes.  Understanding and realising why we hold on to excess clutter and rubbish can help us to declutter and dispose of unwanted stuff to create more room in our homes.

* We keep stuff because we don’t know what to do with it. The reality is, if you don’t know what to do with it, declutter and throw it away or better still give it away.

* We keep stuff because we think we should save It for a “Rainy Day” or “Just in Case”.  My experience has shown me that that “Rainy Day” quite often never comes.  True, think about it.  Stuff just keeps being stored, collects dust and is never used. Declutter by passing it on to someone else, dispose or recycle it.

* Get tough on stuff, if you are not 100% sure of an item’s use then it is not necessary to keep it.

* Quite often we feel there is never enough time to get rid of excess clutter so we put it aside and think “I will sort it out another time”.  I recommend take some action now and don’t leave it for another day which quite often never arrives. Move it from your house, into your car and drop it off to recycling or perhaps a second shop. You will feel joy.

* We second guess ourselves. Don’t think twice – just grit your teeth, be brave and throw it away. We can start to doubt our decision to get rid of our clutter but don’t or it will stay around forever.

* Everyone likes shopping and buying new stuff but it is always good to stop and take a few minutes to assess if you really need it right now.  Or do you really need it.  This can help to curb wasteful spending now and clutter later.
